Wollangarra Open Day 2017

The 2017 Wollies invite you to our biggest event of the year—Yes, our annual OPEN DAY extravaganza is upon us again! It promises to be a joyous, shenanigan-filled celebration of Woll’s old roots as well as well as its enduring work with young people in and around the Macalister River Valley.

This is a family friendly event made possible by our community, for our community. Bring family, mates and anyone up for a fun, silly, magical time. Don’t hesitate to come up even if you’ve never been to Woll before!

We’ll have brilliant pioneer craft smiths, demonstrating the art of blacksmithing, woodworking, sheep shearing and wool spinning. There will also be workshops on tree grafting, cheese making as well as games and activities for the kids.

Toward dusk, we will hold our annual fundraising auction so bring cash and get ready to bid. We’ve got beautifully handcrafted artefacts, outdoor gear, experiences, art and much more!

As the stars start coming out, so will the music. If you’ve got a song, dance or performance of any kind, get it ready for the Open Mic sesh. And after this, we’ll have a live band and raucously boogie our way into the night…

Sounds good? Here’s some further details:

Yup, its time for Wollangarra’s annual Wood Chop extravaganza!

So put on ya flannies and lumber-up!

There’ll be wood-splittin’ galore, warm, hearty soups and of course, toasty fires to thaw by after a brave dip in the icy Mac.

Bring your family, mates, musical instruments, winter woollies, sleeping gear and some food for sharing.
