Wollangarra’s update on Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Holiday Programs

Our response may change at any time, based on the dynamic circumstances regarding COVID-19

Updated 21 April 2020

In line with advice from the Department of Education, the Victorian State Government and Wollangarra’s ethos of social responsibility, we are not currently able to run programs.

Thus far, we have only cancelled our programs through the end of May 2020. We are hopeful programs after that will be able to go ahead but are aware that this may not be the case. With this in mind, we have not opened up any registrations for the (potentially) upcoming Holiday Programs, but will certainly announce it on our social media and website if we do get to open them!

We are very sorry for not being able to offer any more clarity on this situation at present but are, probably similar to all of you, just taking things day by day.

We continue to get our updates from the Victorian DHHS website: https://www.health.gov.au/resources/collections/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-resources. The Victorian Government has a dedicated Coronavirus Health Information Line for you to call as well should you need to: 1800 675 398.

We are aware that these are hard times for all, but as a non-profit organisation we are asking that if anyone is in a position to donate at this time, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your understanding and, as always, if you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact us, either by email (directors@wollangarra.org.au) or phone (03 5148 0492).

Wishing you all the best in these uncertain times.

Cheers,

Wollangarra’s response to Coronavirus [COVID-19]

Our response is to change at any time, based on the dynamic circumstances regarding COVID-19

Updated 17 March 2020

Wollangarra is committed to the health and safety of all young people, staff members and visitors. In line with Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) guidelines regarding COVID-19 and Wollangarra’s ethos of social responsibility we have decided to cancel the upcoming School Holiday programs.

If you have booked a young person on one of those programs and we are yet to contact you please contact us to organise a refund.

Whilst there are no changes to other programs at this stage, we are closely monitoring Victorian DHHS updates regarding COVID-19 and will be making decisions relating to future programs closer to the date.

Wollangarra has introduced significant measures to ensure social distancing and good practise hygiene within the workplace. Additionally, in order to maintain a safe environment, those who visit Wollangarra will be screened and asked to abide by these. Entry to Wollangarra will be refused for anyone who feels unwell, shows flu-like symptoms, is in a high risk category, has been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case or has recently travelled overseas.

For the most up to date information, we draw our response from the Victorian DHHS website who has posted several resources: https://www.health.gov.au/resources/collections/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-resources. The Victorian Government has a dedicated Coronavirus Health Information Line for you to call as well should you need to: 1800 675 398.

Thanks to the Wollangarra community for its ongoing support and if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us via email, or at the homestead.

Kind regards,
